Silk Fabric

Chiffon Fabric

Chiffon is made from filaments other than silk like cotton and synthetic accoutrements. It is a featherlight, balanced plain-sheer fabric woven of alternate S-and Z- twist crepe (high- twist) yarns. The twist in the waffle yarns pucker the fabric slightly in both directions after weaving, giving it some stretch and a slightly rough feel. Chiffon has a beautiful drape, which makes it a great choice for evening gowns to be worn on special occasions. It also does hold a little bit of its structure, which gives the fabric a nice character. How about adding a nice texture design to your home walls that pays an ode to the beauty of chiffon?

Colours & Gems For April 2022

Gemstone
  1. Chrysocolla

    Blue Aventurine

Wondering which gemstone this is? Known as Chrysocolla, it is believed to be a Stone of Communication and the Stone of Goddess. It is usually found in association with gemstones such as Malachite and Azurite. It is associated with teaching, expression and empowerment. The striking shades such as turquoise-blue on the surface of the gemstone is believed to discharge negative energy, allowing the truth to surface and be heard. Considered a peaceful stone, it encourages compassion and strengthening of character as well. Believed to bring prosperity to the wearer, it also helps stimulate the mind and calm down intense emotions.

  2. Moldavite

    Meteorite Moldavite

The gemstone photographed above is known as Moldavite. Also known as Bouteille Stone, it is a fluid glassy mineraloid that is mostly olive-green in colour. It is believed to have formed from an asteroid impact about 15 million years ago in Central Europe. These specimens are also collected by enthusiasts of meteorites and minerals. The good pieces that have a remarkable shape and distinct colour are mostly wire-wrapped or drilled and used as jewellery. However, the biggest purpose of the rough specimens of Moldavite is in alternative and complementary medicine. Having said that, there isn't any proof of its effectiveness as of now. If you are fascinated by the olive-green colour of this gem, you can use them as a wall colour design on your favourite walls.

Peacock Feather
  1. Peacock Feathers

    Feather

Have you ever seen a peacock closely and wondered about the secret behind its stunningly beautiful plumage? We’ll tell you all about it. There are two factors involved in this - Firstly, the simple structures in the feathers that interfere with incident light and secondly, the presence of pigments. Pigment particles are embedded deeply in the newly grown feathers during the moulting season. They tend to absorb light of certain wavelengths. Look carefully and you’ll see that a peacock feather is made up of numerous small, flat branches that are poked with bowl-shaped indentations. Upon near examination, these branches are also covered with bitsy plates or thin plate-like layers that produce a scattering effect with the beautiful iridescence. Fascinating, isn’t it?

  2. Berries

    Blueberry

Have you ever pondered over what gives the blueberries and blackberries their wonderful bright blues and violet hues? If yes, read on! They get their colour from anthocyanin. Anthocyanins are rich in antioxidants. They are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, boosting the immune system. Owing to this reason, anthocyanin-rich foods like blueberries and blackberries are often used to treat a host of health conditions. These include heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease and even cancer. Irrespective of the health claims, anthocyanin-rich foods are a great addition to your diet. If you are fascinated by the rich hues of these berries, you can opt for designer paint by Berger Paints India, bringing the beauty of their shades to your walls.
