Feng Shui For June 2015

It's your birthday and as you wake up, you find all shapes and sizes of gifts but the most beautifully decorated one catches your fancy. You first want to open this particular one. Why is it so special? It's because it's so inviting. Similarly, in Feng Shui, your front door attracts and invites energy.

Firstly, in order to entice auspicious energy, the front door needs to be well taken care of.

When an entrance is beautiful, we invite possibilities and opportunities into our homes. And with that kind of energy flowing through the space, it has a similar effect in our lives. Good vibes knock on your door.

Often, we extensively decorate our homes but forget the space just outside the home. Don't ignore the space outside the door. De-clutter this space, clean the front door, avoid keeping footwear just outside the door, and instead place them neatly on a rack. Sweep the floor every morning; decorate it with beautiful 'rangoli' or other decorations, like plants, flowers etc. Add fragrance with candles. You could hang a wind chime outside so as the wind rustles, the good energy flows into the house, inviting more opportunities into your life. Paint the door and have your family name on it as it will ensure that energy knows where to find you. Make sure you use the front door regularly, as Feng Shui holds that the really potent, boundless energy available prefers the front door, if invited. Make sure you open the door once every day to get in the abundance life has to offer.

When the front door is left neglected, it suggests resources — time, money, and energy — are in short supply. So, be creative, decorate your front door and have opportunities knock your doors every time.

Reiki For June 2015

reiki healing image

The benefits of Reiki can be used for enriching all stages of life. It has the power to enrich the lives of all, ranging from expecting moms to young kids, especially in the case of an expecting mom and a growing baby, it can be very soothing. Using Reiki as a healing therapy is more prevalent but experts feel that introducing it as a practice into a child's routine will give the best results.

When practising Reiki, it is important to take the patient's permission. In the case of a child, the permission has to come from their parents and if the child can speak, then from the children themselves. The general trend shows that children are pretty receptive to Reiki treatment and hardly ever refuse one. Children are generally more interested in Reiki than others and it only requires a touch to offer it to them, as they also respond faster to Reiki.

It is very important to make sure that you are not rigid while offering Reiki to children and are extremely careful about your hand placements. Reiki practitioners suggest that it is best to follow the sensation of the hand and let Reiki guide you. The best part about practising Reiki with children is that it does not require much time as their channels are clearer, and they also need less time because children are incredibly perceptive.

Thus, given how easy imparting Reiki to kids is, we feel all of you out there with young children should make them practice Reiki. It will not only help in increasing the concentration level but also shields them from depression and excess excitability. Reiki is also known to promote a sense of balance and self-esteem in kids, which is all the more reason to go for it!

Vaastu For June 2015

Maroon wall paint

It's been some time that we have been guiding you with which colours to use in your house as per Vaastu Shastra and how they can benefit you and your household. But we are yet to explore one particularly interesting school of thought about how colours for a house should be selected. Vaastu believes in selecting the colour of the house based on the zodiac sign of the owner or according to the direction of the building. So, today we are going to cover the colours that need to be chosen according to the zodiac sign of the owner for a Vaastu compliant house.

Interestingly, Vaastu also states that this is the more commonly followed method to bring good luck and happiness to the owner. Each zodiac sign has at least one lucky colour and sometimes more. Those under Aries should go for the coral red which is their lucky house colour according to Vaastu. Milky white is a lucky colour for people who belong to Taurus, while green is the go-to colour for those who are Geminis. Those belonging to the house of Cancer seem to be lucky because the perfect colour combo of rose red and pearl white is their lucky colour, according to Vaastu.

All the Leos in the house can opt for ruby red and dim white and those belonging to Virgo can go for the lovely emerald green for their house and balance it with other lighter shades. The lucky colour for a Libran's house is milky white or cement grey but for a Scorpion, the lucky colours are pink and once again, coral red.

The bright and beautiful golden yellow is the lucky colour for Sagittarians while a Capricorn should do up their house in dim red. Pink and blue is the lucky colour for Aquarians and yellow and pure white is the lucky colour for people belonging to Pisces.
