The colours in it play a huge role in transforming the conversion rate. This is the reason why marketers and business-minded individuals study colours and use them to improve their conversion rate.

It is a well-known fact that individuals categorise brands based on the colours used in the logo. It is important to get that aspect right. Use your brand colour well to set expectations. The colour red is used to make people feel excited about the products while green is meant to inspire good health and a sense of calm. We could go on about different colours, however the point here is evident. While creating or modifying a brand logo, it is important to take into account what emotions one wishes to evoke from consumers. The goal is to create a logo with colours and a design that matches the personality of your ideal consumer and leave them with a positive feeling that they will associate with your brand.

There is a huge debate in the marketing community over what colour button to use when you want a consumer to follow your call-to-action. According to studies, it has been seen that red builds excitement, creates a sense of urgency and drives conversions. The lesson here is simple. When you want to promote flash sales, countdown times, limited time offers, make use of red.

There are countless ways you can inject colour into your marketing strategy to improve your lead quality and conversion rate. Don’t just use any colour and assume that you have hit a home run – make sure you test it. Use different colours to see how your audience responds.

Colour Trivia

Colour Facts For July 2020

  1. According to dream interpreters, if you dream in black and white, it means you are viewing the dream as an observer, not an active participant. It represents a distance from you and the events that are occurring in your dream. Dreaming in black and white could also mean someone else is controlling the narrative of your life or you are not allowed the freedom to express yourself in different colours or emotions. If you feel that your living environment is not safe, you can feel very limited and restricted, and this may also result in dreaming in a colour combination of black and white.
  2. If you have ever carefully observed a wonderfully lit night sky, you will notice that some stars shine brighter than the others. You will also see that some stars have red, blue or green undertones to it. The colour of a star is linked to its surface temperature. The hottest stars are blue or blue-white, which are shorter wavelengths of light. Cooler ones are red or red-brown, which are longer wavelength. On top of that, it is possible for a star to change its colour over time, but it is most certainly not likely to happen in a human lifetime.
  3. Most tried-and-tested house plants are primarily green in colour, including spider plant, snake plant, monstera and pothos that come in a variety of rich and vibrant green colours. Some even have a tinge of white, yellow or cream that adds an extra appeal. However, there is a new plant trend that houseplant lovers and interior decorators are gushing over. Pink houseplants add colour and style to your indoor space. They have many other pigments other than chlorophyll that absorb colours of light and reflect other colours, depending on their chemical structure. Looking at these stunning rose-tinted house plants, it is easy to see why everyone is obsessed with pink plants right now!

Colour Tips For July 2020

  1. Everyone enjoys a bit of luxury occasionally but have you ever thought about adding a touch of opulence to a room using the right paint colour? Decorating using the right paint colour can immediately transform a dull room and make it look elegant and bright. To achieve this, metallic or jewel tones are great living room wall colours that exude a feeling of warmth and richness. You can also consider a combination of warm grey, gold tones or peacock blue to form the luxurious look you are striving for your home.
  2. Colour preferences are a personal choice when you are looking for home colour ideas that match with your furniture. But if you want to bring out the natural beauty of wood, you will need to keep a few things in mind. Mint green tones are an attractive, low-key choice to pair wooden furniture with. If you are looking to make a bold statement-terracotta or red makes a wonderful backdrop and enhances the wood. Intense blue or metallic blue works particularly well with wood. Avoid warm yellow and orange tones since it brings out the wood’s overall warmth but does nothing to enhance the natural appeal that wooden furniture tends to have.
  3. The 60-30-10 rule is any interior design fan’s best kept-secret. You don’t need to be a mathematician to use the rule, nor do you need a ruler or calculator. The rule helps you create the most balanced, appealing look when you are thinking of getting interior wall paint. The dominant colour, which accounts for 60% is generally the colour of your wall, floor or largest piece of furniture. The secondary colour, which accounts for 30% adds contrast to the room, used for furniture, curtains, bedding, area rugs or an accent wall. The secondary colour should complement the dominant colour and not overpower it. And the accent colour, which accounts for 10% adds spice to the room. The accent colour is not a hard and fast rule, but rather the idea that a few bold colour choices can go a long way in making a statement.

Walls can be great canvases that can be filled with colours, patterns and designs to make a room come alive. Half-painted Wall

If you are planning to paint your home soon and want something different, a half-painted wall can be a great idea. It gives your wall just enough colour without overwhelming the space and it is easier than painting the whole wall from top to bottom, especially if you have high ceilings. This trick is also great for areas in the house people tend to lean on frequently, be it behind the bed or next to the shoe rack. It is also recommended to use anti-bacterial paints like Berger Silk Breathe Easy for high-touched areas in the house. For inspiration, we love how pink and white colour together to create a bicoloured wall, with a pop of yellow to make a complete statement.

Pattern Play

For a wall painting idea that looks difficult but can be done easily using painters tape, go for a patterned wall. You can work with different colours and patterns but just make sure to use just one wall and keep the rest of it low key and neutral.

Elegant Lines

This modern living room makes great use of elegant black lines highlighted perfectly against a predominantly white wall. If accent walls are a bit too much for your liking, this is a perfect wall painting idea to recreate that is subtle yet makes a stylish statement.

Jewel Toned Accent Wall

Jewel tones have the power to transform home interiors into a luxurious refuge. You can choose from stunning hues inspired from gemstones, from sapphire to ruby to turquoiseand even metallic shades like rose gold and silver. Adding a jewel-toned accent wall in any room will instantly make your room sparkle, reminiscent of a treasure trove of precious stones.

Remember These Tips If You Are Planning To Waterproof Exterior Walls

Save yourself the headache of fixing wall dampness issues

While the arrival of monsoon season might be a relief to many, for house owners it brings problems of wall dampness and leakages. Your exterior walls get exposed to heavy rain and high humidity that can travel to your interior walls and cause the paint to peel. If the wall stays damp for a long time, it can also lead to growth of mould and mildew. It is important to ensure your exterior walls are waterproofed to prevent wall dampness. Remember these tips when you are planning to waterproof your exterior walls:

Opt for professional waterproofing services

High quality waterproofing service is a one-time investment for your house that will save your walls from damage in the long run. It is always better to opt for professionals like Berger Home Shield Waterproofing Experts who use IoT devices like Moisture Meter to detect wall leakages and provide customised solutions bases on the severity of wall dampness damage. Since wall leakages have no clear source and the leak might travel a long way within the walls before showing up, professional contractors can detect these leaks and ensure your house is protected against dampness for years to come.

Don’t forget roof waterproofing

The roof is the most dampness prone area in the house, after all, it is directly impacted by rainfall and harsh sun rays. If the roof is not waterproofed properly, it will cause peeling of paint on the ceiling which will eventually end up on your four walls. It is important to give the roof an extra layer of protection and choose products like Berger PU RoofKoat that is designed especially for waterproofing roofs.

Look out for the source of damage

It could be anything, a burst water pipe or weak construction, before waterproofing your exterior walls, fix the source of water dampness to avoid rework. Once you fix the issue, you can waterproof the walls as a preventive measure.

Feng Shui For July 2020

Thinking of ways to get your creative juices flowing? Read on to know how you can achieve it with some useful Feng Shui tips.

Feng Shui Tips To Get Creative!

One of the first interior ideas for home is to do vacuum cleaning and dusting. The energy that is created by clutter blocks the Feng Shui energy flow, thus draining energy from you. De-clutter and clear up your home to make it spick and span.

Clean your home workstation. Keep the main desk surface always clean. Keep only the stationery needed on a daily basis in close proximity. Remove dust and disinfect the surfaces thoroughly.

Doors are important in Feng Shui as they work as portals for energy. Allow energy to flow freely and make sure that doors can open and close at least 90 degrees. Remove any obstacles such as unwanted furniture or clutter that block doorways. Don’t forget to keep your windows clean as they bring both sunlight and opportunity.

Create an inspirational space. Your space should inspire! It can be through anything, be it a painting from your favourite artist or photos from a vacation you took solo or with friends or family. Set up your music collection in the living room for easy listening. You can even create vision boards as a visualisation technique to set your goals and dreams. Make sure your home includes the things that spark creativity.

Set the tone with colour. Colour is considered powerful and has played a vital role in Feng Shui since decades. Make use of appropriate colour choices to make the most of your living space. The use of colour in Feng Shui relates to the five elements, with colours that inspire different moods:

Wood: Uplifting greens and browns

Fire: Daring reds, yellows and oranges

Earth: Grounding pale yellow and light brown

Metal: Whites and greys

Water: Blues and black

Fragrances are a powerful part of Feng Shui as they promote harmony and balance. You can burn some sage and incense to cleanse the living space.

Reiki For July 2020

Spending time in a lockdown can impact mental health. Read on to know how to harness the power of Reiki to cope with the situation.

Reiki and Mental Health

With people spending months hunkered down in their homes due to the lockdown extensions to combat COVID, this could take a collective toll on their mental health. This is why it would be a good idea to leverage the power of Reiki.

To practice Reiki at the home, perform each hand positions given below for about 20 minutes, focusing on each for about 2 minutes.

Hand Position 1: Place your hands together in a prayer position in the middle of your chest, just below your chin. Focus your attention on your inhalation and exhalation in this position.

Hand Position 2: Gently place both hands on top of the head while inhaling deep and relaxed breaths. Focus your attention on your hands on the top of your head.

Hand Position 3: Gently place both hands over your eyes while inhaling deep and relaxed breaths. Focus your attention on your hands over your eyes.

Hand Position 4: Gently place your right hand over your throat and the left hand over your heart while continuing the inhalation. Focus your attention on your throat and heart.

Hand Position 5: Gently place your hands just below the chest line with continued inhalation. The middle fingers should touch each other. Focus your attention on the area under your chest.

Hand Position 6: Move your hands one hand-width down from your chest line, gently placing them over the upper stomach and in the solar plexus area without stopping the inhalation practice. Focus your attention on this area of the body now.

Hand Position 7: Place your hands over the stomach and navel area and focus on these areas next while inhaling deeply.

Hand Position 8: Gently place both hands on the shoulder muscles and focus on these areas while inhaling.

Hand Position 9: Place your hands above the waist line, on the kidney area with continued inhalation.

Hand Position 10: Gently place your hands on the soles of your feet. Cross your left leg over your right knee to reach your left foot and right leg over your left knee to reach your right foot. Remember not to exert yourself.

However, do remember that Reiki is not a substitute for any severe mental health treatment. It can only be considered as a complementary form of healing along with the conventional medical treatment.

Vaastu For July 2020

Thinking of buying a home? Here are some guidelines of Vaastu that can attract positivity and good fortune.

Vaastu Tips While Buying a New Home

Choose a minimum of three options when it comes to your dream home.

People often get confused when it comes to which direction the house is facing. Stand at the entrance of the home as if you are going inside. Check the direction you are facing using a compass while in that position. The direction that you get when you stand in that particular position is the direction in which the house faces. So when you come out of the house, if you are facing North, it becomes a North-facing house.

Always opt for the main entrance in the East, North or North-East.

It is wise to prefer a home that has a lot of open space in the North to East region.

The morning sun rays should fall inside your home but not the evening light.

The master bedroom should be located in South-west, kitchen in South-East and children’s room in North-West.

The prayer corner should be in the North to East region.

It is risky to trust the directions mentioned on floor plan as it can be wrong so it is advised that you go and check the layout and directions first-hand in person.

According to Vaastu, every premise should be a square or a rectangular.

If you have taken fancy to a particular house while house hunting but it is not Vaastu-compliant, you need not worry. It is best to get a Vaastu expert on board to evaluate all aspects of the house and take corrective measures to tackle it. Traditional methods include wall painting according to Vaastu colours, adding mirrors and special metallic wires, depending upon the individual case. You could demolish and reconstructs a particular area properly if it does not adhere to the Vaastu guidelines.

The secret of a happy home is the house itself, its location and interior plan layout. All the best!
