White can create a soothing atmosphere. You can create the perfect getaway in your bedroom after a long day at work. Versatile in nature, an all-white bedroom works well with any decorating style or theme, making it the perfect option.

Pastels are a great idea in making a small room look larger and airy. You can try baby pink or powder blue on the walls for a soothing look.

You can add a romantic touch to your bedroom walls with a bold splash of red. It is also a classic shade that does not go out of style and is also a colour that can never go wrong in the bedroom.

Warm browns can also create a sultry mood in the bedroom. If you don't like bold colours, you can try an accent wall and colour it bright.

You can also choose a muted shade of yellow or orange for a cheery look that doesn't overwhelm the bedroom.

At the end of the day, it is all about painting the walls in a colour that brings you peace and calm. You can try soothing colours or a wild, crazy colour that makes you happy! You can feel free to pick any colour that works for you and suits your personality.

Have you heard of Venetian Plaster?

Venetian Plaster lends a glamorous touch with polished marble and natural stone. The smooth finish is layered with the multi-dimensional, two-tone appearance of marble surface. It exudes warmth, which is ideal for casual, contemporary and traditional homes. Apply it on the walls using a spatula or trowel in thin, multiple layers. Remember that the more layers that are applied, the more depth and polish you achieve. It also plays wonderfully with the light in the room, making it a great option for the walls.

It is especially useful on surfaces where marble panels cannot be installed easily. You can apply Venetian plaster to most walls and ceilings, but the surface should be flat and smooth. If there are any cracks or holes, you need to fill and sand them first and wash off any grease and dirt. The surfaces should be primed or covered with flat paint. It is important to wear gloves when mixing and applying the plaster as it can irritate the skin.

  1. Clear the room as much as possible and spread a drop cloth on the floor. Also, tape-off the ceiling, baseboards and any side walls that won't be covered in the plaster so that they remain clean. Apply the base coat and let it dry.
  2. A flat putty knife is best to scoop up some of the mixture and paint it on the wall in small areas, spreading it to cover as much area as possible. It is best to work it in a couple of directions to create a random texture.
  3. Once the first coat is dry, which could take several hours, apply a second coat in the same manner to fill in and even out some of the missed areas. Allow it to dry.
  4. The last coat is a mixture of half-Venetian plaster and half highlights paint added to lighten the plaster for highlights. Scoop up less of the mixture and add a few strokes where desired and allow it to dry.

Interested In Remodelling Your Living Room?

There are several factors that contribute to the remodelling cost of a living room such as the room size, the materials used and the extent of the remodel.

Room Size
Since several aspects of construction are affected by the square foot of your living room, the overall expense of your project will vary with the size of your renovation space.

Flooring
Changes to your flooring can be a significant upgrade for your living room. Flooring installations and its prices vary with the size of the room, type of flooring and necessary prep work. If it is difficult to remove old surfaces or the repair of subfloors is necessary, the extra work may add to your expenses.

Walls
Wall treatments are affected by the amount of prep work needed, and the type of finish you pick. The pricing of the wall treatments depend on the height of the wall and size of the room since materials and equipment needed to reach and cover large or high walls may be considerable.

Ceiling
Ceiling finishes could be simple painted drywall, wood treatments, textured panels and papers, creative paint and trim finishes. The costs of ceiling treatment in living rooms vary with the materials you choose and the complexity of installation procedures. Applying features to slanted or high ceiling may increase the costs, since it may require several visits, extensive prep work and additional equipment.

Windows
Adding or replacing windows at the time of your living room remodel can not only improve natural lighting and energy efficiency, but can also improve the entire look and feel of the room. Prices for installing windows would depend on the size, type, and number of windows you pick. Repairs or modifications to your walls that are needed to accommodate windows may also affect the costs along with repairs to siding or trim in your home's exterior.

Lighting
Upgrading the lighting of the living room is something one would think of while renovation. This would mean adding new fixtures and switches or making changes to the layout, which would further add to the painting services cost.
