  1. Each perfume or fragrance has its own colour, which becomes its distinguishing element. Blue evokes loyalty and suits those who enjoy tranquility. Light green perfume is perfect for those who want serenity. Pink perfume is for those who want to exude a lovely, romantic feeling. Yellow perfume is ideal for those who wish to create an aura of mystery. Purple is best for those with a mature temperament. This is known as ‘colour marketing’ and perfume companies use it tactfully to market their products. Next time you use a perfume; think about what the colour speaks to you. Fascinating, isn’t it?

  2. Did you know that the colour of your clothing can affect the behaviour of animals? According to research conducted on lizards, animals flee less frequently when humans wear dark blue clothing rather than the colour red. In fact, new research has determined that the colour of the clothing may have a deep impact on animals. This can have great influence on eco-tourism if people are keen on clicking pictures with animals. Next time you go to a zoo, don’t forget to take into account the colour of your clothing if you plan on going close to the animals to snap photographs!

Silk Fabric

Camouflage is derived from the French word 'camoufler' which quite literally means “to disguise.” Military camouflage is the use of the camouflage pattern by the armed forces to safeguard their personnel and equipment from the enemy forces. The camouflage pattern’s journey from combat to couture is difficult to pinpoint. In the western context, the Vietnam War is when this clothing pattern became significant and popular. By the 1980s, military style was woven into the American life. Today, camouflage clothing is used mostly for outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking and rock climbing or even as a print on the fashion runway from top couture brands.

  1. Calhan Paint Mines
Take a look at this geological wonder. This site is known as the Calhan paint mines. Hidden on the eastern plains in El Paso Count, Calhan, Colorado, this park boasts of a diverse ecological system. It has a combination of prairie, badlands and wetlands attracting falcons, rabbits, hawks, coyotes, mule deer, song birds and horned toads. You can't help but notice the colourful layers of white, beige, purple and yellow clayish rocks that give the park its name. These colourful clayish rocks were collected by American Indians to make paint in the past. You can see brightly coloured bands, caused by oxidised iron compounds all through the different layers of clay.

  2. Red-Bearded Bee Eater
Take a look at this dainty bird. It has been rightly named the red-bearded bee eater. It has a decurved beak and pointy wing. Predominantly green in colour, it has red colouration on its face that extends on to a slightly hanging throat that forms the 'beard.' It has a light purple forehead and yellow-orange eyes. As its name suggests, its diet consists mainly of bees. The male and female are similar in appearance. If you are wondering where you can sight this bird, the answer is in the Indo-Malayan region of Southeast Asia in the dense forest.
