  1. Blue coloured eyes are a beautiful sight to behold and are considered to be a symbol of beauty but here is something very interesting about blue coloured eyes that not many of us know. Well, the strange and interesting belief behind blue eyes is that if you have blue eyes, then you supposedly share a common ancestor with every blue-eyed individual in this world! This line of thought is believed to be true because the first blue eyed person is said to have lived around 6,000 to 10,000 years ago and before that people were only believed to have brown eyes.

  2. We all know how beneficial an orange is for our health but what many of us do not know is how this fruit can trick us with its colour. The tricky part about an orange is that its ripeness can never be guessed by its colour, it doesn't matter whether it is green or orange in colour. Even if an orange is left unpicked and stays on the tree till the next season, its colour will go from green to orange to green again! And what is even more surprising is that its quality and flavour both remain unaffected!

  3. Blue is one of the most popular colours around the globe and also happens to be the most "favourite" colour of people, almost unanimously. Besides featuring as the global favourite colour, it is most associated with the navy, air mail and also the uniforms of civil servants. The story behind blue being worn by public servants began in ancient Rome. This acted as a source for the idea of having police uniforms, as well as other uniforms for civil servants, in blue colour.

Colour Tips For January 2015
  1. If chosen wisely, paint is the most affordable styling element that can help you jazz up your house in a jiffy. All of us would love to have walls which help reflect our personality but this is easier said than done as paints are notorious for changing their appeal after appearing on your wall! But we have got a solution for that too! Well, all you need for this experiment is a small powder room or a small wall which falls in between rooms. Once you have located this area, you can experiment by colouring it with your choice of paint and see for yourself how your chosen can of paint looks on a wall.

  2. Trends come and go but some last a little longer than others. When it comes to interior décor, the trend of painting each wall a different colour has been there for some time now. But to be honest, it has become a little overdone. So, for those of you who do not want to be a part of this herd, we have a simple trick for you. To make your interiors look different, you can take a single colour but in different finishes, so that it appears different on each wall. You can buy matte, satin and semi-gloss finish of the same hue and use them on different walls, as well as for trim, which will give a cohesive look to your interiors.

  3. Our focus is mostly on deciding the colour when we are trying to choose a wall paint but a very important detail that we often miss here is the lighting. It is actually the correct lighting which will help in bringing out the true shade of your wall colour. Thus, always opt for warm tones and yellows in areas where you have incandescent lighting because it brings out these colours the best. On the other hand, most of the other colours look best in daylight and you can let your imagination run free while choosing paint colour for areas which receive daylight in plentiful.
