On the occasion of Women’s Day, we caught up with Pali Saha on what inspires her, and her views and ideas as a woman in the field of design. We hope you enjoy this tête-à-tête!

Berger Paints India: What inspires you to think creatively and fuels you to ‘paint your imagination’? (Paint your imagination is Berger Paints’ tagline).

Pali Saha: Because of the coverage, damp-proof, velvety texture and longevity, I can try the fusion of modern designing with the client requirements.

Berger Paints India: Which is your favourite project till date? Tell us more about it.

Pali Saha: Of course, my home project where I can put my idea of modern Indo-European flavour, proving my signature touch of innovation.

Berger Paints India: What made you choose architecture/interior design as a career?

Pali Saha: My passion for interior designing is a way to see myself with what I’m living for and within, this career simply completes me.

Berger Paints India: One design tip/trend you would like to share with the audience?

Pali Saha: Be simple and smart, and understand your client’s taste, you will automatically succeed.

Berger Paints India: What do you enjoy most about interior decorating?

Pali Saha: Mixed colour combination and spray paints excite me the most.

Berger Paints India: Which design trend are you most excited about?

Pali Saha: Trendy wall paints and texture paints motivate me and lift up my spirits.

Berger Paints India: How does it feel to be a women architect/interior designer amongst male
counterparts?

Pali Saha: I feel more confident and try to motivate my female co-mates to be more prominent in the crowd.

Berger Paints India: Do you think interior design is a gender-dominated vocation?

Pali Saha: As per my perspective and thinking, it’s absolutely nothing to do with gender domination but yes at certain level I believe, in few projects especially with Government projects, the client still prefers to deal with male consultants.
