Holi Décor Ideas for Your Home

With Holi just around the corner, along with stocking up on tons of colours, water balloons and paints, it is also the perfect time for us to introduce some colour into our home. We think it would be great to give you some vibrant decoration ideas in keeping with the festivities to spruce up and add a colourful zing to your living space for the rest of the year.

FURNISHING

Holi is a festival of colours. A splash of colour inside your home can add to the overall look. Old chairs or sofas can be reupholstered with richer and brighter fabrics. In case you don’t wish to make any permanent changes, you can play around with colourful bedspreads and curtains to add flair to your home. You can add a touch of festivity to the décor of your home with bright cushion covers with mirror work.  While doing so, don’t forget to adorn your side table or centre table with bouquets of fresh flowers. You can get a bit innovative and display colourful crystal bowls with flower petals on the tables as well.

FLOORING

Don’t leave out the floors while decking up your home for Holi. Opt for bright and colourful rugs to invite cheer and bring a festive vibe. Also, don’t forget to add a floral rangoli to add festive charm.

LIGHTING

Though Holi is a festival that is celebrated during the day, it also extends into the evening. It is a great idea to invest in pendant lanterns that radiate an incandescent glow. You can also paste colourful paper-motifs on the lighting fixtures in your kitchen and use them as a source of ambient lighting. You can get creative with wine bottles by painting them and adding fairy lights inside them to create a surreal ambience.

WALL HANGINGS

You can beautify the walls of your home with mirror-work and artsy photo frames. It is a wonderful way to add colour and pizazz to the space. You can add a touch of elegance and sophistication with candles and aromatic flowers as well. String art is a great way to express your creativity. Adding that to your home décor can make for a great conversation starter when you have guests over and it also helps add a dash of colour!

Hope this article helps you get enough inspiring decoration ideas and lets you gear up to celebrate the festival of colours with aplomb.

Happy Holi, folks!
