Crack resistant & waterproof tile adhesive

Tile Adhesive is a ready mixed polymer modified cement based grey-coloured powder tile adhesive. The product is appropriate for floor tiling on cementitious substrate & for wall tiling on plastered wall by replacing usual sand-cement method.

For fixing all types of tiles on external/internal floors & ceramic tiles on wall.

Method of Application

Floor Tiling :

Surface Preparation

	The surface to be tiled should be clean & sound, free from all kinds of dirt. Old surfaces must be free from any kind of laitance, grease, oils, wax, polish etc.

	Dynamic joints to be filled with suitable joint fillers

	Expansion joints coinciding with the tiling area should be considered at the design stage by maintaining around 5 meter distance from tiling

	The façade must be scratched to expose at 70–80% of the clean surface for better bonding

	The back surface of the tiles is better to be wet before application.

Mixing

	Take 5.5–6.5 litres clean water in a pot (Powder : Water = approx. 3 : 1 by volume), gradually start addition of 20 Kgs. Tile Adhesive powder under continuous stirring to a homogeneous, lump free, soft & smooth paste-like consistency, mix for 3–5 minutes. A forced action mixer attached with paddle stirrer or a slow speed drill (50–100) rpm should be used for mixing

	Allow it to flatten for 5 minutes

	Hand mixing with trowel is recommended for small quantities only

	Mix as much quantity, which can be used within 45–60 minutes.

Tiling

	Spread the mixed adhesive to a thickness of approx. 3–6 mm & comb with a notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled within 25 to 30 minutes

	Intermittently touch the adhesive paste on substrate by finger. If the adhesive sticks to fingers then continue tiling & if not, scrape off the mix & apply new coat before further tiling

	Start placing tiles on the surface to be tiled. Tap the tiles properly to ensure complete coverage of the backside of tiles & to eliminate the possibility of any air voids

	Keep joints between two tiles using spacers \| Allow tiling to set for 24 hours prior to filling joints.

Wall Cladding :

Surface Preparation

The surface to be tiled should be clean & sound free from all kinds of dirt. Old surfaces must be free from any kind of laitance, grease, oils, wax, polish etc.

	Add 3 parts of powder to 1 part of water by volume

	Mix with a trowel/slow speed drill (50–100) rpm until a lump free homogeneous paste is obtained

	Allow it to flatten for 5 minutes

	Mix as much quantity, which can be used within 45-60 minutes.

Tiling

	Spread the mixed adhesive to a thickness of approx. 3–6 mm & comb with a notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled within 25 to 30 minutes

Tile Adhesive : Water = Approx. 3:1 (by vol.)

Usage Precautions

	Always add Tile Adhesive directly to water, vice-versa is not recommended

	Do not use for vertical cladding of heavy stone & tiles

	Do not add more water than recommended

	Do not add cement or sand at site

	Not recommended for tile-on-tile application

	Strictly not recommended for the direct use on gypsum plaster, paint, wood & metal

	Only ceramic tiles having maximum size of 6” x 4” is recommended for wall tiling.
